Presentation Library weert

On November 2, 2024 our chairperson gave a presentation with the title was “From Orphanage Volunteer and Fundraiser to Advocate for Family Care” and the other side of doing good' at Bibliocenter Weert, a huge library in the Netherlands.
Her presentation is not the usual charity story with tear-jerking tales about how we need to help people in the Global South, but rather about how we need to see it from another angle in which we also need to stop being the 'white savior.'
The picture on the right contains a screenshot from the video ‘How to get more likes on Social Media', by Radi-Aid and SAIH Norway.
Of course the participants were asked the question "Just imagine you were to die today, where do you want your child(ren) to grow up? In an institution like an orphanage or in a family?" And then I ask them to write down why they choose for the option of their choice. See their response in the picture below.
At the end of the presentation was a good discussion, which is one of the goals of our presentation.
It is rewarding when people see it as an eye-opener and even write a nice review about it. Like this one which Monique received from Kitty Verspagen.
